Wildcat Discovery - Partnering

Partnering

Partnering with industry is a key component of our growth strategy and is possible in several areas: disruptive materials discovery, incremental materials improvement or optimizations, contract R&D and research consulting.

Wildcat engages in corporate partnerships to conduct paid research in three clean tech areas: Li-ion battery electrodes and electrolytes; catalysts and hydrogen storage materials for fuel cells; and low cost electronic inks for photovoltaic solar cells. For corporate directed research within spaces where IP is pre-determined, Wildcat’s efforts typically take the form of a simple fee-for-service arrangement.  For newly discovered materials enabled by Wildcat’s high throughput discovery workflow and scientist input, Wildcat intends to share in the value created through flexible licensing and royalty agreements or a one-time success fee based on the achievement of pre-determined performance targets.

Wildcat is also actively developing pilot scale synthesis methods (i.e. hundreds of kilograms) that correlate with its high throughput methods.  The goal of the effort is to ensure that new materials discovered at the research level can also be produced in commercial quantities via conventional low-cost industrial manufacturing methods.
