Better Battery Materials for a Brighter, Greener Tomorrow

One of the critical components of achieving a sustainable energy future is improving the performance and efficiency of batteries. Wildcat Discovery Technologies accelerates the discovery of new materials for energy storage solutions, focusing on developing advanced materials for rechargeable and primary batteries. We’re developing innovative and advanced batteries that are more efficient, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly than traditional batteries. The world is headed toward renewable resources, and battery storage systems will play a pivotal role in the replacement of fossil fuels with renewable energy.

As a Research and Development (R&D) leader, we harness energy in sustainable and scalable ways to develop next-generation battery materials. One example of our next-generation materials is our new nickel and cobalt-free cathode. These two metals are commonly used in lithium-ion batteries but are costly to mine and have been associated with many environmental and social issues.

To optimize battery performance, our team uses a high-throughput research platform that involves building and testing hundreds of battery cells in parallel with the goal of improving performance, durability, and safety.

Wildcat Discovery Technologies is helping to address some of the key challenges associated with lithium-ion batteries and our work has the potential to lead to the development of safer, more sustainable, and more affordable battery technologies that can be used in a wide range of applications. As the world transitions to a clean energy future, battery technology companies will play a crucial role in enabling the widespread adoption of renewable energy, and Wildcat is proud to be a part of it.

About Wildcat Discovery Technologies

Wildcat’s mission is to produce high-performance U.S.-made cathodes to enable widespread adoption of clean energy. Founded in 2006, the company plans to manufacture a portfolio of nickel- and cobalt-free cathode materials at a plant it builds in the United States. Customers will have access to LFP, LMFP, and DRX materials produced at the plant. At the same time, Wildcat will continue to leverage its 15 years of materials development to help customers achieve the best integrated battery cell.

Wildcat’s vision is to be the first choice for battery materials development, integration, and supply. In addition to production, the company’s unique high throughput platform enables comprehensive materials experiments to be done 10 times faster than conventional methods. In collaboration with 80 companies, Wildcat has optimized solutions for battery components in 225 projects and 400,000 experiments spanning multiple industries. Wildcat was named one of the “50 Most Innovative Companies” by Technology Review magazine. For additional information, visit us at wildcatdiscovery.com, or follow us on LinkedIn.
